Why I Love Christmas: Top 10 Things
I don't think I've ever met someone who doesn't actually like Christmas. Actually, scratch that. I've met some, but most of them don't like Christmas because of how commercialized it's become. To be fair, I can't blame them. Christmas didn't originally derive for the purposes of gift giving. It was tailored more so around the Three Wise Men getting to baby Jesus & celebrating his life. But, hey. I love Christmas just like the next guy, & here is why!
My Top 10 Things to Love about Christmas!
1. Family traditions!
I think this tradition started way before I was born, if I'm being for real. BUT my favorite tradition is opening Christmas Eve pajamas! Every year, we get new pajamas on Christmas Eve. We wear them that night so we can wake up in them for Christmas Day. When I was younger, Mommom used to make us pajamas. AH! This is definitely a tradition I'll be keeping when I have my own little family.

2. Decorating the Christmas tree.
Because I now live on the other coast, I have the privilege of having two Christmas trees! The best part of Meech's tree is that all my childhood ornaments are hung. It's always fun with Meech because she has themes for the Christmas tree. I definitely think I carried that trait with me to the West Coast because Esco's tree is themed, as well. Either way, I absolutely love the decorating of the tree! I mean, how could you not!?

3. Christmas lights.
Man, oh, man. I loveeeee me some Christmas lights! I think I'm just mesmerized by how gorgeous they make everything look. I miss Baltimore so much for this reason. They're famous for 34th Street, ie. #Miracleon34thStreet. I seriously think that it's something everyone has to experience at least once in life. All the house--on both sides of the street--are completely decked out in lights & Christmas memorabilia. It definitely puts you in the Holiday spirit!

4. Christmas music.
I'm not as extra as some people who start playing it right after Halloween, but I do love me some good tunes! Christmas music is so classic. I don't understand how anyone could possibly not love it!?
5. Ugly sweaters & fun socks!
This combination is undefeated. I mean, again. How can you not love wearing an ugly sweater & having fun holiday socks!? (I personally feel as though you need to unfriend the humans who don't like these two things. Totally not cool.)

6. 25 Days of Christmas on Freeform.
I literally do not know how anyone could possibly skip watching all the classics during this time of year! From Frosty the Snowman, to Rudolph, to the Heat Miser. Literal. Classics. Easily in the Top 10, no doubt about it!!
7. Hot. Chocolate.
Honestly, I love hot chocolate in general, but it definitely tastes a little different around Christmas time...or is that just me?
8. Gifts.
This one, for me, isn't as much receiving them as it is to give them. (I do like receiving, too lol, but not nearly as much as giving.) I loveeee giving gifts! Especially the homemade ones. Seeing people's faces when they receive them will always warm my heart. I can't get enough of it!

9. The snow.
So, this is the deal. I don't actually liiiiike the snow, but I do like the way it looks. A white Christmas is gorgeous! I'm just not a fan of driving in it, being in the cold, looking at it once it's dirty...all the things. BUT! I do think it's gorgeous & makes Christmas that much better.

10. Family.
Family will always be my favorite part of Christmas. I am beyond blessed to have humans who I am so close with. I cannot imagine life without them.

Gotta love Christmas time! What are your favorite things about Christmas!?
May your day be ever filled with love, light, and of course, an abundance of chicken tenders💜🌻✨
