My Secret to Remaining Confident

Would you believe me if I told you I wasn't always confident in myself? Or if I told you that my lack of self-confidence was so high that I wouldn't do certain things because I already told myself I'd fail? Well, whether or not you believe me, it's true. I used to struggle badly.

If you're fortunate, you're born with confidence. In my opinion, confidence is something often taught. Then it becomes something that you have to consistently work on and strengthen. No one ever said that self-love and self-acceptance was easy. It's the furthest thing from. I don't want to be that annoying person who says, "If I can do it, I promise you can, too!" But, y'all...I might have to be that person because obtaining confidence is important, and we all must experience it.

A Few Things to Build Your Confidence & Keep It

1. "Superwoman" in the mirror for at least 1 minute in the morning.

(I stole this from a friend of mine who swore to me that this truly helped with her own confidence. I assure you that she was correct! By standing tall in a "super hero" position, you are telling your mind that you are super & strong like a superhero.)

2. Write POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS & POST THEM somewhere visible.

(I write mine on sticky notes & put them on my mirror in the bathroom. Filling yourself with positive thoughts & views goes the longest way. Talk to yourself how you talk to the ones you love. Fill yourself with all the love you constantly give others.)

3. Talk to yourself nicely.

(Similar to positive affirmations, you talk to yourself more than you talk to anyone else. Therefore, it is crucial that you're saying nothing but good things to yourself! Tell yourself what you're proud of, what you love or even like about yourself. BE KIND TO YOU.)

4. Mute the negative thoughts that slide into your mind.

(Mannnnnn. This one is hard, & I know it! I'm the QUEEN of self-doubt & self critic. I'm learning that the fastest way to kill your confidence is with negative thoughts. So, the second you say something negative about yourself or you think something that goes against empowering yourself, you shut it down & replace it with something good!)

5. Believe in yourself. Claim it.

(Whatever it is, claim it. This is my biggest secret. When you believe that you deserve something, that shows to the world. If you know you're good enough for that role, claim it. If you believe you deserve to earn that position, claim it. If you want to be successful in what you do, claim it.)

6. Tell yourself you're the ish because your opinion of yourself is the only one that matters.

It’s hard not to succeed when you know you’re meant to shine.

Trust me when I tell you everything starts not only with the way you think about yourself, but also with the way you view yourself.

May your day be ever filled with love, light, and of course, an abundance of chicken tenders💜🌻✨
